Johnny Rodriguez has been a prominent figure since 1971 when his “Pass Me By” hit the top of the country music charts. He had fifteen number-one hits, including: “Ridin’ My Thumb to Mexico,” “You Always Come Back to Hurting Me” and “Just Get Up and Close the Door.” In the past 40 years, the Sabinal, Texas, native has released 35 albums and charted 45 singles.
Johnny was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007, an honor well deserved for his contributions to country music.
In 2010, he received the Pioneer Award from the Institute of Hispanic Culture.
Dallas Wayne is the most recent inductee into the Texas Disc Jockey Hall of Fame. After being a successful performer for several years, Wayne took a disc jockey position in 1989. In 2005, he joined Sirius/XM radio and became a personality on both Willie’s Roadhouse and Outlaw Country. He joined Heart of Texas Records in 2016, and his new album “Songs the Jukebox Taught Me” has gained great reviews all over the world. He most recently was asked to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, host the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree and be part of the Country Family Reunion television series.
